Professional Journey & Why UX
My previous work as a Physiotherapist was involved with professional and recreational athletes, and corporate executives, where expectations are high and timelines are tight. This taught me to build trust and rapport quickly, interviewing skills, people management, and empathy.
My work as a chef taught me iterative experience design, the close feedback loop of creating an experience and analyzing how my guests enjoyed the food, dish presentation, drinks pairing and even seating arrangement taught me to observe and listen to my customers then iterate accordingly. All these skills are being leveraged in my UX design process to create products that make people's lives better and bring success to businesses.
I love the field of UX as it allows me to draw on my scientific background, people skills, analytical skills, and allows me to explore my creative problem solving skills also. It also requires constant learning, which excites me. Some topics I really enjoy learning about include: business development, entrepreneurship, human psychology and behaviour change. I also have a keen interest in technology and how it can be leveraged to solve complex problems for a large number of people.
All of these projects are available in my portfolio.
